| Air Force Orion makes mercy flight to Niue |

| An Air Force Orion flew to Niue
last night to evacuate a patient with a
life-threatening condition. A Defence Force spokeswoman said the Orion left Whenuapai at 9.15 pm with a medical team on board. The flight would be about four hours each way and the crew was expected back as soon as possible. She said the airlift was requested by Niue, which lacks specialist medical care facilities. |
