| An Air Force Orion has found a
Samoan fishing boat that was reported missing 10
days ago, about 160km west of Savai'i, Samoa. The Agnui I had encountered electrical problems and its engines would not start. All the boat's six crew were well, and the Orion dropped a package containing water and a radio. Two Orions had searched 80,000 square nautical miles in an operation organised by the Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Nadi, Fiji. The Air Force said the Agnui I would remain drifting until a rendezvous was made with its sister vessel, Agnui II. |
